According to Belstat, 418 citizens of Uzbekistan studied in Belarusian universities in the 2019-2020 academic year. And by 2023-2024 this number has increased 6 times. At the moment, 2,434 students from Uzbekistan receive higher education in the Republic of Belarus. In terms of nationalities, citizens of Uzbekistan occupy the second place in the number of undergraduate and graduate students studying in higher education institutions of the Republic of Belarus. Uzbek applicants most often apply for such fields of study as information technology and programming.
In order to improve the training of highly qualified engineering and technical personnel in Uzbekistan's industries and strengthen international co-operation in higher education, the Belarusian-Uzbek Interindustry Institute of Applied Technical Qualifications was established in Tashkent by decision of the President of Uzbekistan. This Institute has become an independent subdivision of BNTU, which carries out educational and scientific activities, as well as educational and methodological work within the framework of certain areas and specialities of specialist training. Upon finishing their studies, graduates of the Institute are granted a diploma of higher education of the established standard of the Belarusian National Technical University, which is recognised as a document of higher education in Uzbekistan.

Belarusian system of higher education has several levels
Bachelor's degree level
Regular and complete higher education where a student gets
his qualification and a state-recognized diploma. Education period is 4 years
full-time and 5 years part-time.
How much is the tuition fee?
For example, the educational program "Information systems and technologies" at Belarus State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics costs 3,000 USD per year. "Veterinary Medicine" program at Grodno State Agrarian University costs 2,500 USD per year.
Master's degree level
A deeper study in the chosen field is provided at this
level. A Master's degree students carry out scientific and practical research
and prepares a thesis. In the case of a successful thesis presentation, the
student received a scientific degree of a Master of Science. Education period
is 1-2 years.
How much is the tuition fee?
A Master's degree educational program in "Innovative Technologies in Mechanical Engineering" in Russian at Brest State Technical University costs 3,000 USD per year. While the educational program in "Automation" taught in English at Belarusian National Technical University costs 4,500 USD per year.
How can a foreign student apply to a Belarusian university
Foreign students are not required to pass any specific exams when they are applying to the universities of Belarus (except such educational programs as architecture, design and medicine). All it is required is passing's an interview where the committee checks the student's command of Russian or English (depending on the chosen program).
