The Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics (BSUIR) is open for international students. The university has great experience in cooperation with foreign students and creates comfortable conditions for studying.
BSUIR has been training specialists in technical specialties for 55 years. In 1964, it was first established as the Minsk Radio Engineering Institute (MRTI) and later on, in 1993, reorganized into the Belarusian State University of Informatics. Now BSUIR is a prestigious higher educational institution leading in the training of specialists in computer science and radio electronics. The University is certified according to the quality management system of the international standard ISO 9001.
The structure of the University comprises 9 faculties:
- Computer aided design (CAD)
- Information Technology and Management (ITU)
- Radio Engineering and Electronics (REE)
- Computer systems and networks (CSN),
- Infocommunication (IC)
- Engineering and Economics (EF)
- Military Faculty (MF)

BSUIR also includes two subsidiary educational institutions:
- Institute of Information Technology of BSUIR
- Minsk Radio Engineering College
The educational process at the University is provided by 32 educational departments. The education includes training in 38 specialties of the 1st stage of higher education and in 37 specialties of the 2nd stage of higher education. BSUIR has opened 6 educational centers supervised by the leading world companies. Thus, students undergo additional training and certification to work with the equipment produced by the leading IT & industrial companies.
The advanced studies of leading employees, workers in the field of information technology and radio electronics are carried out at the Faculty of Advanced Studies and Retraining of the Institute of Information Technologies of BSUIR.
The status of the University and academic programs
The Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics is staffed with qualified teachers, including two academicians, two corresponding members of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, as well as about 100 Doctors of Sciences and over 400 Candidates of Sciences. BSUIR was awarded the Prize of the Government of the Republic of Belarus for achievements in the field of quality in 2011 and 2016. In addition, the University is accredited by the State Committee for Science and Technology and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and has the status of a scientific organization. According to the ranking of 2019, BSUIR is among the top five universities in Belarus. In the world ranking, it holds the 3807th place according to Webometrics Ranking of World Universities.
BSUIR provides pre-university study for applicants to fill the knowledge gaps and give young people the opportunity to enter the University and complete their studies successfully. For this purpose, a preparatory department has been established.
In BSUIR it is possible to study in postgraduate and doctoral studies; this possibility applies to foreign citizens too. The University takes an active part in the development of international cooperation. Today, 169 bilateral agreements have been signed with foreign educational institutions and scientific organizations of 40 countries.
