That's the dream of many young people nowadays - and we can make it come true! This is our review of the most popular IT majors in the universities of Belarus

When asked about the advantages of studying in Belarus many international students always note the quality of education and its comparatively low price, the hospitality of the Belarusians and low criminal activity all across the country. But this standard list should include one more point: Belarus is a country known for its rapidly developing information technologies. Here we have one of the largest IT-hubs in Central and Eastern Europe, Belarus Hi-Tech Park, where many well-known IT-companies reside. No doubt that IT majors are very common and popular among students of Belarusian universities.

This article covers only a small bit of all IT majors available for international students who want to study in Belarus, but you can always find more here. Most of them are taught in Russian, so in order to get there, international students usually have to cover a 1-year's Russian language course. But there are also many English-taught programs that you can apply to right away.

One of the leading universities in the IT field is Belarus State University of Informatics and Radio Electronics - there you can find a range of interesting majors. Take Information Systems and Technologies in Business Management for example. Every growing business requires a stable and efficient system incorporating modern information technologies. And every system needs specialists for its maintenance and development. If you decide to study in Belarus, this is a great opportunity to become a highly-demanded IT professional later on.

Another popular major available at BSUIR is Information Communication Technologies. Digital signals, interaction of different devices within networks and other mysteries of telecommunication systems are being discovered here.

One of the features of BSUIR courses is that some of the subjects are being supervised by specialists from well-known IT companies, who deliver interesting and up-to-date lectures and seminars to their students. BSUIR is also known for a range of their IT-courses that are taught distantly, like Programmable Mobile Systems course where you can apply and study from home.

But Minsk isn't the only city where you can go for IT. Universities in the non-capital cities of Belarus also offer various IT major programs.

For example, if you are interested in cybersecurity try looking into Electronic Security Systems - a Bachelor's degree course in English from Gomel State University named after Francisk Skorina. A trending major for a smaller tuition fee is an opportunity worth reaching for.

One of the most popular IT majors outside Minsk is Software Engineering - you can find it at IT faculties of Polotsk State University and Grodno State University named after Yanka Kupala. Polotsk and Grodno are very beautiful cities with a rich history and unique architecture, so besides studying you can always enjoy walking tours and sightseeing - there will always be something new to discover every time you step out of the university campus. Living and studying in these cities is also relatively cheaper for international students.

A challenging but fascinating program in Artificial Intelligence can be found in Brest State Technical University. It's not just about simply programming things, it's about developing the ability of critical thinking and experimenting envolving a much wider scope of IT instruments and solutions (including the ones you invent yourself!).

So, as you can see, there is a lot of variants to choose from, and if you haven't found the study program of your dream yet, then take a closer look at all programs available on our platform or contact us for further assistance!
