"Belarusian State Academy of Aviation" is a leader in training specialists in the field of aviation in Belarus. At the academy students can get higher education in the specialties of air traffic engineers, air control specialists. The academy also provides the opportunity of education in English. And since 2021 there is an opportunity to become a real civil aviation pilot.
You can become a pilot by enrolling into the program “Flight Maintenance of Civil Aviation Aircraft”. Education is carried out in Russian. But don’t worry - if you don’t know Russian or think that you need to upgrade your level of knowledge, the preparatory programs at the Academy are for your help. Upon completion, without any hesitation, you can enroll in the civil aviation pilot program.
Preparatory programs can be taken as a group or individually. They last for 9 months. If taken as a group (group of 8 people) the cost is $1,260 and if taken individually the cost is $9,890.
After passing the preparatory programs you can safely enroll. After graduation you’ll get the qualification "Specialist on flight maintenance of civil aviation aircraft. Engineer-pilot”. That is, students study what happens to the aircraft during flight, and in an emergency situation can understand what happened, correct the defect and competently operate aviation equipment. The training lasts 4.5 years.
The program includes study of the following disciplines: "Practical Aerodynamics", "Aircraft Performance", "Human Factors Crew Operations Management", "Emergency Response System”, "Aviation Safety", etc.

Students will have a minimum of 150 hours of flight time by graduation.
Types of airplanes for student learning:
In the course of training, the student will be submitted to the authorized certificate issuing body for obtaining a Private Pilot Licence (PPL). Upon successful completion of the training, the graduate will receive a diploma of higher education and, upon meeting the requirements, will be submitted to the authorized certificate issuing body for a Commercial Pilot Licence (Airplane) (CPL).
What concerns the cost of education, it’s worth mentioning that pilot is quite field-specific profession, that’s why the cost differs from the usual programs. It is necessary to pay $80,000 for the entire period of training.

Boys and girls can study. The height of applicants must be not less than 160 cm and not more than 190 cm, and body mass index not less than 18.5 and body weight not more than 90 kg. Tattoos that may be visible on areas of the body uncovered by the service uniform are prohibited. Piercing and tunneling are also prohibited.
It is also worth noting that students with vision problems are not allowed to study. It is prohibited to admit applicants who have undergone keratorefractive surgeries as well.
Before enrollment it is important to have a report of the medical and flight expert commission (cost - 150 BYN / 50$). If the doctors confirm that you are fit, the next step is to check your physical fitness.
