Now, migrant workers can be hired for 29 working professions and 18 employee positions.
Among the workers are drivers, concrete workers, bricklayers, painters, carpenters, cooks, seamstresses, livestock breeders, machine milking operators, plasterers, electric and gas welders and others.
The list of employees includes nurses, paramedics, doctors, midwives, veterinarians, engineers, technicians, agronomists and electrical engineers.
Compared to last year, the list has been reduced by 13 occupations related to leather production. At the same time, vegetable growers have been added to the list. The Ministry of Labour explained this decision by the fact that this industry is actively developing in the country.
If a foreigner is employed in a profession from the updated list, the employer concludes a fixed-term employment contract with them until the end of the year. No hiring permit is required — it is sufficient to notify the citizenship and migration department within three working days. In all other cases, the employer must obtain a special permit and prove that there are no suitable candidates from Belarus for the vacancy.
