Belarusian medical universities are popular among students from Africa.

Of the 2,500 African students in Belarus, about 500 are studying medical specialties, more than 200 of them at the Belarusian State Medical University. This was recently reported by the Ministry of Education. This figure also includes clinical residents from Morocco, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Equatorial Guinea and Libya.

Over the past two years, the number of students from African countries at the BSMU has grown by almost 40%.

This year, the university plans to accept more than 50 students from Libya.

The Ministry of Education has also stated that it is ready to significantly increase the number of African students at other Belarusian universities. It also wants to organise internships for teachers from these countries.
