In November, 224 foreigners obtained Belarusian citizenship. They came from 17 countries, including Ukraine (ranked first), Armenia, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Moldova, Russia, Turkey, and Uzbekistan.

It is noted that those who received citizenship work in various fields. Among them are individuals with pedagogical education, service-sector specialists, agricultural workers, construction industry employees, and representatives of other professions.

Under the expanded visa-free regime for 35 European countries, which came into effect on July 19, 2024, 53,581 foreign nationals entered Belarus.

ℹ️  For reference: from April 15, 2022, to December 31, 2025, a visa-free entry regime to Belarus applies to citizens of Lithuania and Latvia (including holders of Latvian non-citizen status). From July 1, 2022, to December 31, 2025, visa-free entry is available for citizens of Poland.

Detailed information about visa-free travel to Belarus can be found in the special section of the State Border Committee’s information portal and in the “Belarus Border” mobile app.

🎓 Education

As for education, Belarusian universities currently host over 35,000 international students. In the past two years, this number has increased by 5,000. Nearly one-quarter of all foreign students are enrolled in master's programs. These figures are provided by the Ministry of Education. The list of countries sending applicants continues to grow, including an increasing number of students from African and Asian nations.

As a reminder, starting this year, foreign applicants can receive a grant to study the Russian language in preparatory courses, enabling them to apply to their chosen university in the future. This opportunity became available thanks to amendments to the Belarus Education Code, which came into force on September 1, 2025.
