We at MyUniver know this firsthand: we are approached by guys from dozens of countries, including those who are taking their first step abroad with zero knowledge of Russian or English. The main thing is not to be afraid and to know where to start.
University language courses are your best friend
Most universities in Belarus offer preparatory courses in Russian for international students. Usually it is a one-year programme where you do not just learn the language, but get used to the academic environment, learn the culture, and make your first acquaintances.

After this year, you:
- are fluent in learning materials,
- can maintain a dialogue with teachers and classmates,
- you feel more confident in a new country.
We always recommend starting with a preparatory course - this is the key to a comfortable and successful study in the future.
Belarusian universities with programmes in English
And if you want to study in English - there are also such programmes. There are some universities that offer bachelor's and master's degrees in English. This is convenient if you already know it at least at an intermediate level.
We will help you find a suitable option where:
- do not require knowledge of Russian,
- teaching is conducted entirely in English,
- support for international students is available.
Don't put it off: start learning the language now
The advice is trivial, but it works: start learning the language now, even if it's just the basics. Use:
- mobile apps (Duolingo, LingQ, Drops),'
- podcasts in Russian/English,
- films and TV series with subtitles,
- socialising in chat rooms and language forums.

Each new word brings you closer to your goal. And on the spot, you'll be surprised how quickly you start to understand and speak when the language is all around you every day.
We are there for you every step of the way
At MyUniver we accompany students from the very beginning:
- matching the university to your goals,
- we'll organise your documents and visa,
- we’ll meet you at the airport and help you adapt.
You are not alone. We're here for you 24/7
And yes, not knowing the language is not a barrier, it's a challenge. And you'll get over it.
Studying abroad is not only about knowledge, but also about growing up, confidence and independence. Don't be afraid to start from scratch. We have dozens of stories of students who came to Belarus knowing only "Hello" - and already in a year passed their exams with "excellent" marks.
Want to do the same? Write to us right now - and we'll tell you where to start.
