How Cameroonian citizens can study in Belarus

Belarus is increasingly becoming the choice of students from Africa — and Cameroon is no exception. Modern universities, affordable prices, safety, and a diploma that is recognized in different countries — all this attracts applicants. But how exactly can a Cameroonian citizen enroll in a Belarusian university? Let's take a step-by-step look.

Why Belarus is a good option for students from Cameroon

  • Affordable tuition fees: bachelor's degree programs cost on average between USD 1,500 and USD 3,500 per year
  • Quality of education: strong educational programmes in medicine, engineering, IT, economics
  • International environment: students from more than 50 countries study at universities
  • A safe and peaceful country: low crime rate
  • Possibility to work while studying (part-time employment with permission)

Step-by-step admission process

1. Choosing a university and speciality

You can study for a bachelor's degree in Russian or English. However, not all universities offer programs in English, and if they do, they are significantly more expensive.We recommend that you enroll in a preparatory department (Russian language courses) for the first year, and after completing them, choose a university and a bachelor's program and study in Russian. It will be cheaper, plus you will feel much more comfortable in the country if you know the language.

There are more than 40 universities in Belarus, each offering its own set of programs. Our managers will help you choose a university and speciality. Your preferences are always taken into account.

By visiting our website, you can independently explore the specialities and programs available at universities, as well as the cost and duration of study.

 Quick filters by speciality are located at the top.

2. Submitting an application

You can easily submit your application on our website. To do so, you will need to fill out a short form:

  • first and last name;
  • mobile phone;
  • citizenship;
  • age;
  • email.

The manager receives the request and clarifies all the details in a dialogue with you.

3. Preparation of documents

To apply to a Belarusian university, you need:

1. Passport (valid for at least 1 year at the time of entry);

2. Secondary education certificate + transcript with subjects and grades;

3. Birth certificate;

4. Completed questionnaire (sent to each applicant personally by the manager).

Sometimes additional documents are required: a letter of recommendation from parents, a CV, a video presentation, etc.

All documents must be translated into Russian. At MyUniver, we help with translations and can even translate from Amharic!

4. Submitting documents to the university

After collecting all the necessary documents, paying for the translation, and translating the documents, the manager submits your application to the university. After submitting the documents, you must wait for an invitation from the university.

4. Obtaining a visa and arrival

Citizens of Cameroon need a student visa (type D) to enter Belarus.

Cameroonian citizens can obtain a visa at Minsk National Airport (visa on arrival). It is issued by the Foreigners Department of the Main Consular Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (UVV GKU MID).

  It is essential to coordinate your arrival date with a representative of the partner company, as upon arrival in Belarus, the applicant must be met by a representative of the university to which they are applying. All of this is planned in advance.

If the university is not located in Minsk, the representative must travel from another city. They can only enter the transit zone with a special pass, which must be obtained IN ADVANCE. Therefore, it is important for applicants to follow the instructions provided by the partner company.

A university representative assists the applicant in completing the application form, paying the visa fee, obtaining insurance, and submitting the documents to the consul. The consul checks the documents on the spot and issues the visa.

After receiving a visa, the applicant passes through passport control and finally arrives in the Republic of Belarus!

Enrolling in Belarus from Cameroon is realistic and quite simple if you follow the steps. The main thing is to choose a university in advance, gather the necessary documents, and entrust the paperwork to professionals. Then you can focus on your studies, making new friends, and earning a degree that will open doors to different countries.
