New BNTU dormitory: modern comfort for the capital's students

On 17 January 2025, Minsk hosted the grand opening of a new student dormitory located at 9, Akademika Vysotskogo Street, near Borisovsky Trakt metro station. The dormitory is designed for 1,030 places and will accommodate students of BNTU and BSTU, who will be able to move in as early as in February.

The building of the new dormitory is notable for its unusual architecture, echoing the neighbouring ship-shaped building of BNTU: one of the end walls of the dormitory has a slope of 74°. The height of the dormitory varies from 13 to 17 floors and looks very modern.

The dormitory blocks are equipped with everything necessary for comfortable accommodation of students. They have one or two rooms, a kitchen, a hallway, a bathroom and a shower room.

A special feature of the dormitory are two-level blocks located on the 16th and 17th floors. This layout allows for additional space and convenience for residents.

Creation of comfortable conditions for living and studying

The new dormitory is the fourth such facility built in Minsk in the last couple of years. Earlier, in September last year, a dormitory at the intersection of Pobediteley Avenue and Raduzhnaya Street was commissioned, which can be confused with a good hotel from the outside and inside due to its unusual shape and glass facade.

Inside the new dormitories, modern facilities are also provided: stylish tiles in the bathrooms, kitchens equipped with refrigerators and electric cookers, as well as gym and fitness rooms, medical centres and laundry rooms.

The building has a cafeteria where students can have a snack or lunch, and a conference room for various events.

The opening of the new BNTU dormitory is another step in the development of the capital's infrastructure, aimed at creating comfortable living conditions for students.
