The dean emphasised that the new speciality will combine the latest achievements in the field of programmable electronic systems, including artificial intelligence technologies. The speciality is abbreviated at the university as “IntEl”, it sounds quite modern and attractive. BSU has developed a state of the art programme, the curriculum will be quite challenging but very interesting. But the most important thing is that Belarusian enterprises and companies need such specialists. The university is sure that students with a diploma in the new speciality will be in great demand on the labour market. Almost every enterprise needs a qualified specialist who understands programming and electronics and is able to design smart devices.
It is worth mentioning that in 2024 BSU has already opened three new specialties: “Regional Geography and Translation Studies” in the School of Geography and Geoinformatics, “International Conflict Studies” and “International Logistics” in the School of International Relations. In recent years, the university has also introduced such specialties as “Bioengineering and Bioinformatics”, “Geotechnologies of Tourism and Excursion Activity”, “Cybersecurity” and “State Audit”.
Furthermore, it was reported that Minsk State Linguistic University has introduced artificial intelligence into its curriculum, which emphasises the growing interest in this subject in the country's educational field.
The opening of a new speciality at BSU will become an important step towards preparing specialists able to use the capabilities of artificial intelligence in various fields of economics and science. Those wishing to become a part of this highly promising field should pay attention to the new enrolment, which starts as early as next year.
