The Chernobyl disaster of 1986 changed our lives and became an undeniable argument in favour of establishing a professional higher institution for training specialists in radioecology. After many years of formation and a number of transformations, the university became a part of BSU and was named "Andrei Dmitrievich Sakharov International State Environmental Institute".
