General Information

Belarusian State Technological University was founded in 1930. Now the University is a large multi-profile educational and scientific centre in the Republic of Belarus. The activities of the University cover a wide scope ranging from training highly competitive specialists to research and development and innovative activities. It is the leading Belarusian higher educational institution in the fields of forestry, chemical and printing industries. BelSTU was granted the status of a basic higher educational institution of the CIS in the fields of forestry and forest industry. Later it became a full member of the International Centre for Forestry and Forest Industry (ICFFI).

The university researchers contribute to over 230 projects within 35 national and international scientific and technical programs. The University collaborates with more than 400 national enterprises and business within commercial contracts of applied character.

The world markets of hi-tech and R&D products can only be won with state-of-the-art equipment. The University departments and the Centre for Chemical and Physical Investigation Methods are equipped with unique up-to-date research and laboratory facilities enabling high-quality research and assisting in the educational process.

At present there are 10 schools at Belarusian State Technological University:

Life Conditions

The university has 9 student dormitories. International students are usually accommodated in the dormitory No. 5 - it is a 15-storeyed building, block-type - 212 residential units (424 rooms). Currently, it houses 1,027 students. On each floor, there is a kitchen, a self-study room and a recreation room.

On the basis of the hostel, there is a canteen, a health centre, a sanatorium. There are sports grounds on the territory of the dormitory: volleyball, football, basketball grounds with the BelSTU. stadium next to it.

BelSTU offers a wide range of cultural and sporting activities that contribute to the all-round development of the individual. Students can join various clubs and interest sections, which helps them to discover their talents and find new friends.

BelSTU strives to create a favorable atmosphere for learning and development of students, providing them with everything they need for comfortable accommodation, healthy nutrition and active leisure.
