Baranovichi State University is a regional centre for training of high-qualified competitive specialists in the field of information technology, pedagogy, economics, law, agriculture, and machine building.
BarSU was founded in 2004, and in 2007 the university welcomed its first international students.

BarSU also has an Institute of Advanced Qualification and Retraining, Lyahovichi State Agrarian College, Center of Turkish Language and Culture, Center of Chinese Language and Culture, Center of Excellence in Inclusive Education, and a scientific and practical laboratory "Students' Business Hub".
Baranovichi State University has 120 agreements on international cooperation with foreign higher educational institutions and scientific organizations.
