State University of Grodno named after Yanka Kupala educates specialists in many popular areas. The University has great experience in teaching foreign students and developed branches of international cooperation.
Information about the University
Yanka Kupala SUoG dates back to 1940 when the Grodno Teachers' Institute was first founded. In 1977, it was reorganized into State University of Grodno named after Yanka Kupala. In 2016 Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno was awarded the title of Laureate of the Prize of the Government of the Republic of Belarus for achievements in the field of quality. Today SUoG is one of the ten best universities in Belarus and successfully prepares specialists in the field of language and literature, management, law, economics and other specialities.

On the basis of the University there is an Institute for Advanced Studies and Retraining of Personnel, Y. Kupala Museum of the History of Development, Technology Transfer Center, Scientific Library. The University has a Technopark RUE "Technolab" in the status of Scientific and technical entity.
The status of the University and academic programs
The teaching staff of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno includes 37 professors. In 2017-2018 two University employees defended 2 doctoral dissertations.
For the applicants' convenience Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno organized a preparatory department which is optimized as much as possible to prepare foreign citizens for admission. The preparatory department provides training in Russian and English. There are separate Russian language courses in groups, individual Russian language courses and individual courses in the disciplines that the students can choose themselves.
At Yanka Kupala SUoG there are master's and postgraduate courses. They are available for admission of foreign citizens, too.
The partners of the State University of Grodno in international educational activities are the ”Alfa Educational Services” and AIC CAMPUS. The University has summer schools in various areas for foreign citizens. Within these educational programs, students can study at the school of art, at the sociological school, at the school of the Russian language or undergo psychological courses and much more.
Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno is a member of many international programs: ERASMUS +, Poland-Belarus-Ukraine cross-border cooperation program, Latvia-Lithuania-Belarus cross-border cooperation program and others.
In the international ranking of Webometrics Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno ranks 3618th, and among the Belarusian universities, it takes the 3rd place.
