Medical institutions in Minsk for foreign students

Having come to study in Minsk, every student should know where to go in case of illness. We will tell you about medical institutions available for foreign students and how to make an appointment or call a doctor at home.

Student medical center

If you get sick or need medical attention, don't worry! Minsk has an excellent 33rd city student polyclinic which serves students of state and commercial universities. The polyclinic is located at 45 Surganova St., Bldg. 4. Here you can get outpatient care, as well as call a doctor at home.

What kind of doctors are there at the polyclinic?

The polyclinic employs doctors of different specialties: therapists, neurologists, otolaryngologists, ophthalmologists, trauma surgeons and even has a laboratory and functional diagnostics. So, if something hurts or bothers you, you will definitely find the right doctor!

How do I make an appointment?

To make an appointment, go to the information desk on the 1st floor of the polyclinic. If you are from China, go to consulting room 613 or 604, while other foreign citizens go to consulting room 611 or 612. Don't forget to bring your passport and its Russian translation. You can make an appointment online via the polyclinic website or by phone.

What should I do after making an appointment?

After making an appointment, go to the 6th floor, where you will be met at the international student registration desk. Here, your passport will be entered into the polyclinic's computer network. After that, go to the doctor's office according to your appointment confirmation.

What happens at a doctor's appointment?

During the appointment, the doctor will issue referrals for examinations and consultations with specialists, as well as conduct a medical examination.

If you live in the student village, you don't have to go to the main medical center. There is a branch of the polyclinic in the student village, it is located at 1 Ciurlėnis Street, near the ALMI store.

The number of the registrar's office can be found on the polyclinic's website. Call, make an appointment, it's done! You can also order an appointment online.

Private medical centers

There are also many private medical centers in Minsk where you can get qualified help for a fee. Some of them offer services in English. A list of private clinics can be found on the website of Minsk City Executive Committee.

Polyclinic at the place of residence

If you rent an apartment in Minsk, you can apply to the city polyclinic at your place of residence. To do this, you will need a rental agreement. With the rental agreement and your passport you need to come to the registrar's office of the polyclinic and write an application for service. Within a month you should be given a medical card and assigned a therapist. If you are not contacted within this period of time, you should go to the polyclinic and remind yourself again.

What if there is no rental agreement?

If you do not have a rental agreement, for example, if you live with relatives, the scheme is the same:

  1. Contact the registrar's office of the polyclinic.
  2. Explain the situation and leave the phone number of the landlord.
  3. Fill in the application form.

Doctor's house call

If a student is not registered at the polyclinic but is ill, he/she can still call a doctor at home. All necessary phone numbers can be found on the polyclinic's website. The doctors are obliged to accept the call. They will come to your home, issue a sick list, and schedule a follow-up appointment.

Don't forget that your health is your greatest asset and taking care of it should be a priority. If you still have questions or need more information, do not hesitate to contact the relevant medical centers or consult with specialists.
